It is not possible to draw an electron-flow arrow to point to an incipient bond between an atom and a shortcut group. See first figure. I can draw theelectron-flow arrow to point directly to a shortcut group (see second figure), but I want both options.

I have tested both Marvin 5.4.1 and 5.6.

Dear Bob,

Sorry about the late answer. We are working on the fix of the explained bug. If it helps you, there is a workaround for your problem right now. Ungroup the Me, than you can add the desired electron-flow! After all you can simply replace CH3 by Me. Not nice, but it works.

Thanks,

Eva

Thanks. It's not so much the Me group that I am worried about, but other groups such as Et. And I'm not as worried about this bug as the one that prevents the MRV from being created (and throws an error) when an electron-flow arrow starts at a shortcut group.

Only on the ChemAxon forum would a four-day delay be considered a late reply. xxoo

Dear Bob,

OK, I understood that the workaround is not a general solution. We'll take care about both the bugs, and report you as they are fixed.

Regards,

Eva

Any plans to fix this bug? It is still not possible in Marvin 5.11.5. It is also impossible to draw an arrow from an AB bond to an incipient BSg bond, where Sg is a shortcut group.

Yes. We are working on electron flow arrows in the 6.1 version, we plan to fix this bug as well.

Version 6.2 will contain the fix.
