Hello

I downloaded the Marvin editor for JS, but the example for SMILES convertion doesn't work. I always get a 404 error...(ERROR: MolConvert failed (status code 404)). And i can't find the path "/webservices2/..." which is used in the webservices.js

Do I have to download the JChem Web Services? I tried to download it from the website, but it seems that this files doesn't exist anymore...

Thanks! :)

Hi,

Yes, if you want to use "advanced" functions you need to install and configure web services.  This is the download site: https://www.chemaxon.com/download/jchem-suite/#jcws

Can you send us the broken link?

Hi,

Thanks! Now the download link works :) I have to install the file on my webserver right? Right now, my website is just local using xampp, so I can't post you a link...sorry!

Another question: I'm creating this website for my university (I'm a student). Do I need a license? The site will be public.

Hi,

Sorry for being a bit late with the answer - flu season is here...

However, Marvin JS will require a license. If you have an academic background and your website will be public, then you have good chances to get our FreeWeb license. You can read more about it here: http://www.chemaxon.com/free-software/

And if you think you qualify, please drop us a line to the acpack _at_ chemaxon.com, and tell us a bit more about your website:

  1. What does you site do?

  2. Who is it for/who will use it?

  3. Do you plan to implement only Marvin JS or other ChemAxon products might show up too?

  4. Who can access it? Will it be public?

Well, That's it for the first round. If you drop us a line, we can progress with this pretty quickly.

Cheers,

Janos
