No help available

Hi,

We have noticed when use the insert function menu, that there is no help available for JChem functions and that when we try to seach for a function, the JChem functions are not found and also that the JChem functions do not appear in the list of most recently used functions. Help is however available from the help menu, but it would be useful to have more desciption of the parameters for some functions.

Hi Bob,

unfortunately this is not possible with custom functions in Automation Add-Ins. Excel simply does not have the option for that.

What we will do soon:

• In Excel 2007 create a Ribbon tab similar to the Excel Formulas tab with our functions. This will give a categorized overview of the formulas available.

The options we could try in the future:

• We create a VBA or XLL wrapper for the functions, with these it is possible to display help. However these approaches might require significant changes.


• We implement a custom function wizard, similar to the built in one, for our custom functions.
