Adobe CS6 & JChem4Office troubles

Are there any known issues? Any certain settings perhaps to use?

For me, I can't produce pdf either from within the Office applications, or the context menu (right click) on files directly.

For documents without any JChem content, it "might" produce anyway but with an error. With JChem content it doesn't work (Word or Excel crashes). Even if, say, structures only as pictures created from JChem.

Turning off JChem in Office resolves problem for regular documents. But even a doc with pictures from JChem crashes. It works when removing the pictures.

CS6 is up to date. As is the JChemSuite. Using 64bit Windows 7, Office 2010 (also up to date).

Hi alemin,

For which purpose would you need Adobe CS6?

If you would like to produce pdf from XL or Word you can use File/Save As/ pdf menu in MS Word and Excel.

With this, I saved an excel worksheet and a word document containing structures to pdf, so, cannot reproduce the issue. See the files attached. The environment was the same as yours, Office 64bit, 15.4.1300.2488 JCO version.

If you are still facing the issue, we can have a look at your computer in a gotomeeting in the afternoon.

To be more specific, Adobe Acrobat Pro X (from Adobe CS6) and making pdfs from desktop or via the Adobe tab in office applications.

I am aware I can use save as pdf and that completely ok,  but doesn't explain crash behavior.  Maybe it's just my installation, hence the question.

Hi Alexander,

JC4O 15.5.400 has been released today, and it includes a fix for the Word/PowerPoint issue; please test it.

The Excel related part has probably not been fixed by this, but please give it a try as well.

Best regards,

Akos
