Hi

we found there was problem about the name which  was transfered from the structure of boronic acid by marvin,  was not recognized by ChemDraw.  I think maybe the name transfered by Chemdraw was more popular. I cannot be sure it's a bug or not.

Please see The detail in the attached file

Thanks.

Thank you for your report. I believe both names are correct. You can find this structure in pubchem:

http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/summary/summary.cgi?cid=66827

Both names appear in the "Depositor-Supplied Synonyms" list. However, the "boronic acid" version is indeed preferable. I implemented this in our software, together with other improvements for acids, which will appear in the soon-coming 5.3.0 version.

On the other hand, since both names are synonyms, they should be imported to the same structure. ChemAxon does so already, but ChemDraw is apparently incorrect on importing "phenylboranediol".

As a by the by in ChemDraw v12 (the latest version) both names convert to the same (correct) structure. Both names are synonyms so this is a bug in the version of ChemDraw you tested with.
