I tried for search for Olanzapine “2-Methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5]benzodiazepine” or “Methyl 4(4 Methyl 1 Piperazinyl) 10H Thieno[2,3b][1,5] Benzodiazepine”, and Aspirin “Acetyl Salicylic Acid (Benzoic acid, 2-(acetyloxyl)-Salicylic acid acetate)”, and Tylenol “N-acetyl-para-aminophenol” but I had no luck, I tried then “Acetaminophen” and “Paracetamol” and it worked.

How do you deal with complex names like the ones that I tried on my first searches, which are ones that we are likely to encounter more often.

Thanks,

Dear Alexa,

the first two cases, you tried (“2-Methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10H-thieno[2,3-b][1,5]benzodiazepine” and “Methyl 4(4 Methyl 1 Piperazinyl) 10H Thieno[2,3b][1,5] Benzodiazepine”) are named with fused nomenclature, which is not supported yet.

The others are not strict iupac names (nor the second one). We are working on extending the importer, to accept non-standard names, but it is under development.
