Jchem for Sharepoint server question

Should Jchem for Sharepoint be installed on the same server as Sharepoint? Will there be performance impacts on either side?

JChem For SharePoint is an integration of chemistry in Sharepoint so you should definitely have SharePoint 2010 installed on your server.

From performance point of view JChem For SharePoint does not have any performance impact on SharePoint itself. So in other words if you install JChem For SharePoint in your environment your normal SharePoint functionalities won't suffer any performance downgrade.

However we strongly recommend to NOT install JChem For SharePoint directly in your production environment but rather on a test environment first, because some problems can occur if you have other 3rd party SharePoint extensions/products installed on your environment. Since multiple products can exist at the same time in SharePoint some integration problems can occur.
