Received a demo license from Alex Allardyce for caculator plugin and managed to run executable
cxcalc that is part of Marvin Beans (Marving Bena was downloaded and the license file was uploaded via lcense manager). Here is the command line that I am using:
“c:\Program Files
(x86)\ChemAxon\MarvinBeans\bin>cxcalc -S -o
D:\Standardization\Tautomers\chemaxon\output.txt -i CSID
D:\Standardization\Tautomers\chemaxon\H1_100_tautomers.sdf canonicaltautomer”
However, even after adding your
license file to license manager of Marvin Beans I get this message for every
record in SDF file and calculation is not running:

Hi,
It is suspect that there is a conflict with multiple license files
or license configurations.
Firstly you should check, that just one license is installed at your
system. The license overview page shows it on the GUI. It is
possible that the same path is present in the list.
In this case please try removing all old licenses from the system
and try to install it again. The default place of the ChemAxon
licens files is the Chemaxon folder in the user's home folder. The
license installer puts the license files to this place.
If it can not help, you should check if the license path is set with
environment variable. The variable name is CHEMAXON_LICENSE_URL. If
yes, and that points to the default place try removing the variable.
Let me know if the problem is persist after those steps.

Edvard

Followed your instructions.
1. Removed CHEMAXON_LICENSE_URL from env. variables.
2. Looked up the license file path from license manager GUI, deleted it, restarted GUI, no license showed up, added license. Now license expiration shows as 11/20/2012 but status shows as invalid for all software.
And command line execution of cxcalc still says "liense could not be verified".

No luck.
I replaced my license with the one you emailed me, uploaded it to license manager (this time to status shows up as valid). I also added CHEMAXON_LICENSE_URL to my environment pointing to the right file. When I run this command:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ChemAxon\MarvinBeans\bin>cxcalc -S -o D:\RSC\Standardization\Tautomers\chemaxon\output.txt -i CSID D:\RSC\Standardization\Tautomers\chemaxon\H1_100_tautomers.sdf canonicaltautomer
I get license error:

Hi,
You don't need to use the environment variable if you installed the license file from the GUI or commend line. In that case the license file is placed in the default folder (user home/chemaxon)
Theoretically it should work, but there is a bug which causes verification error when the license is stored at the defailt folder and the environment variable points to that license file. We are working on the fix.
I hope it will help you

Hi,
does your system works without CHEMAXON_LICENSE_URL environment variable setting? Or do you still get no valid license error?
The problem which I mentioned is not a high priority issue, we will fix it for 5.12. It occurs not very often, and it can be fixed if there is no multiply reference for a license.
If your problem still exists, something else causes the problem. In this case we should continue to investigate your problem.

Hello,
I’d like to use cxcalc. I have an Academic License (Instant
JChem 5.11, MarvinSketch 5.11.4 on MS Windows). Do I need an additional
license? Thanks!!

Hi,
you don't need any other ChemAxon license to use cxcalc.

Hello Edward & happy 2013!
Thanks very much for responding my question. I haven’t been
able to reach cxcalc in Windows; does this have something to do with setting Services
in the Preferences Tab of MarvinSketch?
I also tried typing the command in a terminal in Linux but I
got the message “No command ‘cxcalc’ found” I suppose I need to make an alias
to point to the directory of the plugins. If so, please may I know where that
directory is?
Thanks so much!
