installing license on a webserver

Hi Guys,

How can I install the license on a web server where my only right is to deploy a particular application? I do not run the web server, I do not have access right to any of the directories (except where the web application is located), jchem is not installed there (no license manager - only the necessary jar files with the web application).

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Peter,

in this environment is it possible to use the LicenseManager.setLicenseFile(String) API?

With this you can put the license file at any location on your server, and since you have a server mode license, you can set the URL of the license file as an argument.

Is this solution suitable for you?

Peter, we've just checked the license.cxl file we have sent you and found a small technical problem with it. It can cause problem, so we send you a new license file as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Judit

Hi Judit,

I need license for JChem and the LicenseManager.setLicenseFile(String) API exists only for Marvin which is not running on the server at all. My only right on the server is that I can read/write files in a particular directory and update one particular web application with the web server(Weblogic).

Can you send the license file today or tomorrow morning?

Thanks,

Péter

Hi Peter,

the API should also be available in JChem 5.0.1: http://www.chemaxon.com/jchem/doc/api/chemaxon/license/LicenseManager.html#setLicenseFile(java.lang.String)

The license file was just sent to you.

Please tell us how you proceed on this.

Kind regards, Judit

Hi Judit,

Thanks, it seems to be working fine. Sorry for not responding earlier but I just had time now to deal with the issue.
