Switching to 5.0 license management without .cxl licensefile

With the 5.0 releases ChemAxon introduced a new licensing system.


We support old type license keys till September 1st 2008. This means that applications usually do not require any change, they will run without license problem.





However if you happen to be asked for a .cxl file that you did not receive yet, here is an easy step-by-step to follow:

1. Create a new text file and name it to licenses.dat


2. Copy all license keys you have to this file


3. Save this file to an arbitrary location of your file system.


4. Click on the Browse... button on the license installer panel


5. Change the "Files of Type" to "Old ChemAxon License Files (*.dat)" on the appearing dialog


6. Select the location where you have saved your licenses.dat file.


7. Press the Install button

Installing licenses is complete, you will see a license overview where you can see the installed licenses. Show Video

In versions prior to 5.0 license keys of JChem, Cartridge and JKlustor could only be set in JChem Manager.





From 5.0 the old license keys are all supported similarly, so these license keys have to be in licenses.dat in the following form:

Cartridge=******


JKlustor=******
