Using the same starting material twice in one reaction

I appologize it this question has already been answered somwhere as it does seem basic (i have searched the site but have not been able to find anything about the topic)

I am trying to use one starting material twice in the same reaction.

For example, in the file i am attaching, i want to use the same amine to amidate two carboxylic acids.

I cannot seem to figure out how to map this correctly, and if i use a second amine i will get two different amines.

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi,

I am happy to answer your question.

I have modified your original reaction scheme (please find
attached) and added reactivity rules (I assume that your starting material could be either primary or secondary amine).
While running this reaction, you also need to change the stoichiometric ratio of starting compounds to 1:2 (1 carboxylic acid : 2 amines; carboxylic acid-amine ratio order is the same as reactant order in
the reaction scheme). This way you will be able to generate the desired diamide products.

Hope this helps,
Anna
