License error (MCES product?)

Hello,

We are getting an occasional error from JChem (5.5.1) along these lines

ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.rmi.ServerException: RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is:

java.rmi.RemoteException: No valid license has been found.

Product name: MCES

License path: C:\jchem-5.5.1.0\jchem\cartridge\licenses\license.xml

Please contact [email protected] to obtain the corresponding license.

Students and academic researchers are entitled of free use

through our Academic Package

please visit: http://www.chemax...

but have a valid un-expired license :

<Field Name="Expiration Date" Value="2011-12-31" />

Could someone help us with what is going on?  What is MCES, and what are we doing that is suddenly triggering it's use?

Thanks,

Steve H

Hi Steve,

Would it be possible to post/send us the corresponding Java stack trace from jchem/cartridge/logs so we have a better grasp on which occasions the problem occur?

Thanks

Peter

Thanks for the quick reply Peter (as ever!)

I'll try and get that for you but in the meantime I am fairly sure it is an SQL like this which is causing the problem :

update REQUEST_STRUCTURES_3293 t

    set vdb_image = (select jcf.molconvertb(b, 'jpeg:w120,setcolors')

                             from table(jcf.hitColorAndAlign(t.db_name, t.structure_table, 'structure',

I hope you can see this OK as I can't seem to re-format it.

Steve,

This is a known issue: LIC-60 . It has been solved in 5.7 and 5.6.0.5.

Thanks Peter.  Is there anything we can do as a workaround?
