JChemManager: very slow import

Hi,

I have a question regarding the import speed of the JChemManager. I try to import a 127 MB sdf file ( around 23000 structures) in a mysql database. In the import interface the only selected option is "halt if an error occurs".

I also wrote a small Java program doing the import, but with the same result:

The import time took around 9 hours!

Am I doing anything wrong? Or is it possible to tune the import process somehow?

Bye the way, I am using JChemManager 5.1.5 and JVM 1.6.0_05

If somebody is interested in the solution to this problem: There should be two indexes in the table where JChemManager imports the entities. Unfortunately there were no indexes in our table ;)

Good that you found the reason!

The indexes should be created automatically during JChem table creation. Were they deleted accidentally?

Best regards,

The tables were generated from a DB schema drawn in a MySQL tool. So it was our fault that we missed the indexes ;)

Hi,

we recommend to use JChem Manager for all structure table operations. We cannot provide support for problems external to our software.
