WARNING - chemaxon.jchem.cartridge

Hi.


Why does I get the following warning


"WARNING - chemaxon.jchem.cartridge.JFunctions: Name of the connected Oracle instance could not be obtained" ?





I can see that there are attempts to read the v$instance view but why ?

This is part of a configuration sanity check. JChem Cartridge attempts to check if JChem Server is configured to connect to the same Oracle instance on the same host where incoming calls are originated (i.e. it connects back to the same Oracle instance which it is serving).





This feature maybe useful in environments where there are potentially many Oracle hosts and JChem Server hosts and there is room for confusion (like my environment ;-) ).

PS:


I don't know why ordinary users are prevented, by default, from reading seemingly innocuous data dictionary view such as V$INSTANCE.
