I Posted this earlier today, but in the wrong place.   Maybe this is still the wrong place!!

I have recently installed JChem 19.9.5 on a Windows Server 2008 R2.  But since then have been fighting with Java versions and have installed several!   I now have Tomcat (7.0.62) running with Java jdk1.8.0_101 64bit with the JChem rest webservices working .    But now JChemManager and LicenseManager do not run.  Below is error

  C:\Program Files (x86)\ChemAxon\JChem>JChemManager.exe

The JAVA_HOME envionment variable does not

point to a working JDK or JRE.

The JVM found at JAVA_HOME is damaged.

  Please reinstall or define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME

to point to an installed JDK or JRE.

The JVM could not be started. The main method may have thrown an exception.

I have tried changing the environment variables and defining EXE4J_JAVA_HOME but to no effect.

Note that JChem 5.10.0 is also installed (that is what we are currently using) and it's JChemManager does run.

I downloaded the latest 64-bit JChem and that works.  DOn't know what was wrong before!   All a bit messy.

Hi Jim,

Thank for your comments.

When selecting the appropriate installer, the best solution is to adjust the bit numbers of JChem and Java, so on machine with 32bit Java, install 32bit JChem, while on machine with 64bit Java install 64bit JChem.

Besides, we recommend the use of the platform independent zip installer, it provides the same functionality.

Best regards,

Krisztina
