Switching between single-user and multi-user modes

I have recently migrated to Instant JChem and got everything set up to access our database from our server.  Now, I am trying to make it viewable to other users (multiple users at the same time).  They downloaded and installed the software and it all works fine as long as the database is not open on another computer as well.  It said that the database was locked (and I think it said it requested I change to multi-user mode).  I can't figure out how to unlock or switch modes.

We are using the Enterprise edition, on a Derby server.  I enabled security (UN/pw using IJC Databases), and have given UN/pw's to two people with Read-only permission.

Hi Jared,

the Derby database in IJC is only for use as a single user local database. If you want to have a multi-user database then you need to use a MySQL or Oracle database running on a server. Derby is not supported as a multi-user database. For completeness, an IJC Enterprise license is required for a multi-user database (though you state you already have this).

Is there a way to install it on the server?  Would this help?

Derby can be run as a network server, but IJC does not currently support this. If you need a network database you must currently use MySQL or Oracle.
