Unable to start Instant JChem

Hi,

I have been using iJChem for several weeks now. What can be the problem?

Hi Yvonne,

it seems that this is a bug in Java related to java web start when using a proxy server. I suspect that it works fine when you have a direct connection to the internet, but fails when you are behind firewall. We are investigting and see if we can find a work around.

In the meantime you could install the standalone version which would not use Java Web Start and so should not suffer from the problem. You can download it from here: https://www.chemaxon.com/download/instant-jchem/

Thanks for the response. The strange thing is that I have been using the program for a couple of weeks with no problem.

I downloaded the program and all works fine now. Is it OK to delete the other one?

You can delete the Java Web Start version if you want, but we hope to be able to fix the problem soon.
