Hi,

Every time I restart IJC I have to reinstall the license file (at least on Vista it seems). I'm running the web-start version. Am I missing something obvious?

We have tested the license installation in IJC 3.0.3 on Mac and Vista and all tests were successful.

We tried these steps:

  1. remove any *.cxl file from c:\Users\<username>\chemaxon (on Vista) to be sure there is no current license (backup it before of course)

  2. Start IJC 3.0.3 from http://www.chemaxon.com/instantjchem/ijc_latest/jws_stable.html

  3. Help -> Licenses ... then Browse and finally Install button

  4. Check License overview (2nd item on the left side of License Manager) - all must be there

  5. Close this dialog, reopen again, check again the License overview - all must be there

  6. Check if exists this file: c:\Users\<username>\chemaxon\license.cxl

  7. Restart IJC and check again steps #4 and #6.

We tried this with academic and commercial licenses and both works.

Could you please check the steps above let us know what steps fails for you? Maybe version info from About dialog could also help.

Hi,

I removed the license.cxl from my user\chemaxon folder to start with. Then everything works, until step 5: upon reopening the license manager everything is empty. But there is a new copy of the license file in my user\chemaxon folder.

Could you send us your license file so we can test this.

Please email it to tdudgeon at chemaxon dot com

Thanks

Tim

One more thing - can you report where it is that the license manger is reading the license file. This is reported at the top of the License Overview panel.

Thanks

Hi,

When I started IJC this time, the license file was still installed. Under License overview, it says:

Licenses are read from c:\Users\evehom\chemaxon\license.cxl.

OK, so it sounds like the problem is solved?

If you have any more difficulty then let us know.
