Error while saving memory settings

Hi,

in order to increase searching performance in a 2 miljon compound database, I try to increase allocated memory (it is set at 300 Mb now), but get the following message:

Error while saving memory settings. If this error persists, please see help (tips and tricks, memory usage) for manual settings.

I'm running IJC 2.5.1 on 32-bits Centos 5.3

I just found out that I have to change the settings as root (we run a central installation owned by root, but used by 2 users).
