Webstart problem on Linux

Hi,

Sofar I have been running IJC locally on my Linux box (Centos 5.2) but now I wanted to give the latest release (2.4.1) a try as the Webstart version, since this would make upgrading easier. This however results in Firefox (3.0.4) opening one empty browser tab after another. Do I need to change some settings in Firefox? Presumably my Java installation is OK, since I can run MarvinSketch without problem.

Best wishes for 2009,

HomerE

There are potentially various problems running on 64 bit linux distros.

Could you confirm:

1. which java version you are running

2. is this the 64 bit of the 32 bit version of Java (Java Web Start typically needs the 32 bit version as JWS is not supported on the 64 bit linux versions)

3. You mentioned that Marvin runs OK. Can you confirm that you mean that the Java Web Start version of Marvin is running OK.

You can test basic operation of JWS by using this page:

Thanks

You can test Marvin using Java Web Start with this link:
