Apply duplicate filtering on existing DB

Hi,

under the entity editor, there are general settings, which allow

turning on the duplicate filtering for a DB.

There are two buttons "apply" and "discard".

If I press Apply I would think it performs this operation on the existing DB.

Obviously this is not the case. Only for new imports.

Also if I activate the duplicate filter and press discard, it still keeps it activated.

Both processes are confusing.

The Apply button sets the current changes to the database, the Discard button resets any edits you have made and are not yet applied.

The Reset button seems to be working correctly for me. If you make a change to the duplicate filtering checkbox and then press Discard then the setting gets reset to its original value before you started editing.

Then value for duplicate filtering applies only to new structures that are entered into the database. It does not apply retrospectively to structures that are already in the database.

Hi,

yes apply has different meanings, so it should be for

"future imports" and not for "To put into action or use" (right now or later?) Thats why the Apply button is confusing.

The discard things is not an error; its probably just uncommon (a MySQL thing?) usually its OK or cancel. But well this is just about the general feeling.
