The question is in the title; is it available for testing yet?

Instant JChem is a new product under development that provides easy ways for end users to create, edit, query and view chemical databases. Of course it it based on Marvin and JChem.

We expect to have a version ready for tesing in time for the User Group Meeting on June 7th - 8th, where we will be providing more information about Instant JChem.

See here for details about the UGM: http://www.chemaxon.com/UGM/06/index.html

Thanks for the insights, I am eager to see that... and I will try to attend the UGM if it is not too late and if the lab is willing to finance me...

The current version of Instant JChem can be downloaded from http://www.chemaxon.com/instantjchem/

Please note that this is a beta version.

OK, I downloaded it and installed it, but I can't figure out how to run it. On what file do I double-click? (I'm using MacOS 10.4.)

Hi Bob,

Currently, there is no desktop launcher for IJC. To start it, use the Unix shell script:

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Start the instantjchem script from command line (go to the bin subdirectory of the InstantJChem directory and type the name of the script or give the absolute path of the script):

Code:
/Applications/ChemAxon/InstantJChem/bin/instantjchem

We will improve IJC installer in the near future (adding desktop launcher to IJC is in our task list).
