Double C/T or Unspec bonds are not persisted on saving.

Hi,

When saving a file with double bonds of that type and reopening it, these bonds are converted to Double Cis or Trans. Is this intended? Is this something to do with being a query feature?

Israel.

Hi,

I'm using the standard .mrv format and saving out as ChemAxon Marvin Documents / MRV (*.mrv).

Israel.

PS: Edited this entry to add a screenshot.

Hi Israel,

i have consulted some others and they confirmed that the two representation means the same, and should not affect anything internally in our codebase, just the displayed information is different, the handling is the same.

The good news is that it is fixed in the 5.8 series and above versions, because we also understand the ambiguity, and it was a known request before as it turned out for me while investigating on this issue.
