Does anyone know how to remove the understood terminal methyl groups from the ends of regular lines, dashes, or wedges?

Hi,
I do not understand what does the "understood" methyl groups mean in your dictionary, but you might refer to the terminal carbon atoms visibility: they are visible if their implicit hydrogens are visible and the carbon label visibility is not off.
- The visibility of the implicit hydrogens at terminal atoms can be turned off in the View > Implicit Hydrogens menu (use the At Hetero or the Off option)
- The cabon label visibility can be turned off on the Structure tab of the Preferences dialog (Edit > Preferences) setting the Carbon Labels option to Never
Either way should work.
Best regards,

If you're trying to get the terminal end of a bond to show up without a label, you can assign it a white space (hit the spacebar) as an alias. The bond will look truncated in the display, but will be OK when printed or saved to a graphic.

Yes, thank you for your suggestion, this solution can work when you want to make only one methyl group to disappear not all the terminal atoms, or not all the carbon labels.
