It's been a long long time since I used Marvin Sketch etc. Back then, I think, it was a piad package which required a license key. Am I right in thinking this is no longer the case? The site just seems to say license keys are only needed for JChem and some other programs.

Hi,
Yes MarvinSketch, MarvinView, MarvinSpace, and MolConvert is free in general. The IUPAC name import export, the structure import for pdf documents, most of the calculations are require a license key, but they have a trial version in the Marvin package. Here you can find more information on our free softwares.
We also have a license for Academics that is free for the whole chemaxon suite. You can find the Academic License related informations here.

Istvan
