I am a new licensee and have encountered an installation problem. I hope that I am posting this in the appropriate place

Everytime I attempt to run marvinbeans-3.5.9-linux.bin the installer gives me the message that 'Marvin Beans is already installed. If you would like to update it unistall it then start this installer again. Press OK button to quit from the installer.'

When I click on 'OK' the installer window closes. I had an earlier installation that I deleted before I attempted the first installation of the new file.

Where is the installer finding an old run control file of somesort on my system that is responsible for this?

Thanks in advance

You should have uninstalled the old Marvin Beans instead of deleting its directory. The new installer can not start if it finds reference to an earlier one.

Please remove $HOME/.chemaxon/chemaxon.properties from your machine ( $HOME is your home directory). If you delete chemaxon.properties, the new installer will be able to run.

Actually, "chemaxon.properties" stores information about the installed Marvin Beans.

The installer automatically generates it during the installation process and removes it if you run the uninstaller.
