Problem with abbreviated group

Hello

I'm new to marvin sketch

I'm having some trouble with the abbreviated group option. I had to create my own group, a C18H35 chain. I can manage to draw it, group and contract, but for some reason marvin wants to attach to the H-atoms instead of C-atoms in the abbreviation. I know it's not a big difference, but it still annoys me.

I tried choosing the first C-atom as the "S-group attachment" but it makes no difference.

Another problem I'm having is that I want to have a fully skeletal structure, but marvin puts CH3 groups on each end. Is there a way of removing the CH3 groups and leaving just the skeleton?

Can someone please help me?

Hi Sara,

The visibility of implicit H-s can be switched off by View/Implicit Hydrogens menu item.
I tried to reproduce the problem with the attachment points - without succes. Please save your structure in mrv format and send us the mrv file.

Thanks,
Erika
