Hi,

Just have upgraded marvinspace to 5.4.0. And, it makes Safari crash when I tried to load the applet. While, I do not think this is the problem of MarvinSpace, since my Firefox didn't seem to have any problem loading it, and Safari had problem loading even very simple java applet (javatester.org/version.html). I have changed Java preferences from 64 bit to 32 bit and couple of options, but had no luck. Finally, I changed the Safari launch option, so that it will be using 32 bit mode. This solved java applet running problem in my case. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.5 and Safari 5.0.3 + Java 1.6.0. Curiously, other people in the lab who use 10.6.4 does not seem to have any problem loading MarvinSpace.

So, I'm leaving this for the reference and hope this can help others if they have similar problem.

Thanks,
Sunhwan

Very strange, but someone else's laptop running Mac OS X 10.6.5 + Safari 5.0.3 + Java 1.6.0_22 had no problem with MarvinSpace 5.4.0. So, maybe it just my computer! :)

Hi,

Indeed, it seems a specific problem to your machine. I could only test the applet on 10.6.4 x64 so far, but it worked.

You might try clear the java caches, and the .chemaxon directory (it is in your user directory). It may help.

András

I'm glad it is just my computer. :)

Everyone in the lab had switched to Mac OS, and sometimes particular version of Mac OSs had problems with applet, but MarvinSpace 5.4.0 works fine for everyone in our lab.

Thanks,
