Copy paste in png or jpg format not working

I am running the latest Marvin Sketch version under Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and was hoping after reading about the new copy past features in the release notes that it now would be possible to directly paste structures to OpenOffice documents and presentations.

I couldn't figure out how though. "Copy as" isn't working, neither as jpg nor as png image. Is there anybody out there who figured out how to do this?

My current workaround is to save the structure as jpg or png image and "insert from file" to OpenOffice document or presentation.

I assume it is a Java specific OpenOffice issue under Linux systems.

Although image transfer to OpenOffice does not work, I can copy structure from Marvin to GIMP both in JPEG and in PNG format.

But image copy from other Java applications into OpenOffice also failed.

In the Java bug database, this problem has been already reported.

I have checked this issue with a test application, it seems this problem is still existing.

We will check how to solve this issue.

Until then, I can recommend to copy structure into GIMP, then select it again and copy it from GIMP to OpenOffice.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 + LibreOffice 3.3.1 + MarvinSketch 5.4.1.1 and it doesn't work for me. But I cannot copy the structures from Marvin to Gimp neither, so I always have to save every structure, which is a pain.

I also use OpenOffice 10.10. I can paste molecule image from MarvinSketch into GIMP.

Just choose the "Copy" menu item from the "Edit" menu Then paste the clipboard content into GIMP. It works for me.

Copy As JPG and Copy As PNG also work for me.

Which Java version you have?
