When MarvinView displays an alkyne such as 2-butyne, the middle line of the C(2)-C(3) triple bond is contiguous with the lines representing the C(1)-C(2) and C(3)-C(4) bonds, making it look like one long line stretches from C(1) to C(4). Some of my students are a bit confused by this drawing. When we draw alkynes by hand, we do put small gaps between the middle line of the C(2)-C(3) triple bond and the lines representing the C(1)-C(2) and C(3)-C(4) bonds, and it would be nice if MarvinView and MarvinSketch did the same.

Dear Bob,
thank you for the suggestion, I like it, but I don't know when we'll have time for that.
If you set the Display Mode to "Wireframe with knobs" in the
View->Display menu point, there is a separator between the bonds,
which is a knob and not a "gap".
Anyway, I like the idea, and I'll create a task for your suggestion, and I'll let you know about the "agenda".
Thank you,
Eva
