Protein-SH in Marvin Sketch -> covalent bond to Textbox ?

Dear all,

I have a problem that surely is possible to do, but i could not find the hints in the docu as well as in this forum:

I want to sketch a reaction if a generic 'protein' reacting with an electrophile. So I created a textbox and filled it with the word 'protein'. As the proteins reacting moiety is an -SH group I wanted to draw a SH covalently bound to the textbox, i.e to 'protein'. However, I could not manage to connect the SH and the textbox by a covalent bond in Marvin Sketch.

Is there any convenient way to illustrate something like Protein-SH in Marvin Sketch?

Thank you in advance,

Markus

Hello,

the simplest way to do this is to place a single bond on the canvas, change one carbon to S (by typing s on the keyboard while the mouse cursor is over the atom), and place an alias atom over the other carbon: open the Periodic system (ctrl+m), choose Advanced tab, click on Alias custom property, then type protein into the Value text box. The label is now on the cursor, so click the atom to change.
