Chemical Structure or reaction for my academic project...

Hi,

I am new to this technology, what is meant by chemical structure and reaction, i have some requirement like storing chemical structures and reactions in the db, for this i went through this site, but i have some little bit confusion like where we can use Jchem and marvin sketch.

My requirement is like below:

1. I need to draw one structure/reaction.

2. Need to store that structure/reaction  in db.

3. search the structure/reaction from the db.

4. edit the structure/reaction.

5. view the structure/reaction by clicking on one particular one.

 

For all the above requirement which one we need to use Jchem/Marvin sketch.

Please can you guide me for my academic project. I am great ful to you for your help.

You can use Marvin(Sketch) at #1, #4, #5. Use JChem at #2, #3.

You can use Marvin both as applet or desktop application.

A Marvin Applets package is bundled with JChem. The JChem API also contains Marvin Beans classes.

If you would like to use MarvinSketch as desktop application, choose the Marvin Beans installer.

You can also install easily JChem by the JChem installer that also includes a bundled Marvin Beans installer.

So I recommend to download JChem installer since it includes everything that you can need.
