resizing textboxes

In versions of Marvin before 5.2.6, it was possible to resize a textbox by choosing the Select tool, clicking and holding one of the eight circles on the border, and dragging.  In Marvin 5.2.6, it seems it is no longer possible, and the only way to resize it is to insert white space (space characters and return characters) into the text.  Is this the case?  If so, any reason why?  I prefer the old way.

Hi,

I tried to reproduce the resizing problem with Marvin 5.2.6. - without success. Please give us more details.
This might be a bug.

Regards,
Erika.

Maybe there is no problem and I am just not able to figure out how to do it.  So tell me, how do you resize a textbox?

Maybe the problem is browser-dependent.  I'm using Safari 4.0.4, MacOS 10.5.8.

I think I could reproduce the problem.

Try to create a text-box with Insert/Text, but instead of just clicking on the drawing area, give an initial size to the text-box by dragging with the mouse.
Choose the selection tool. Try to resize the text-box by its corner. In this case resize should work.

If I try to do the same just by clicking on the drawing area (without dragging with the mouse), then resize won't work later.

Do you experience the same behavior?

Erika

I'm seeing this exact same behavior in 5.2.4 in MSketch stand-alone, in FF and in IE. See the thread at http://www.chemaxon.com/forum/ftopic5300.html. This appears to be a bug.

Ah, yes, exactly.  If you size the initial textbox by click-hold-drag, then you can resize it later.  If you don't size the initial textbox, simply clicking and releasing, then you can't.

One should be able to resize it regardless.
