Implicit hydrogens and valence

Marvinsketch and view add implicit hydrogens to charged transition metals.  For example the attached molfile for stannous chloride.  All the other major drawing packages show this as SnCl2 2H2O and calculate the molecular weight correctly.  Marvinsketch insists on making this SnCl2H2 2H20.  How can I set the valence to II or even better, why does it not recognise II as a correct valence for Tin and not add the hydrogens.

Hi,

Presently the default valence for Tin is +4. You can change it to +2 through the Atom > Valence menu.

Another point is that MarvinSketch automatically adds implicit hydrogens even to metals, which is probably not expected by most of the chemists, and we are going to change this behavior soon.

Best regards,
