Problems with Marvin OLE Server

How did you installed Marvin Beans? Have you used the Windows installer for Marvin Beans? Did you choose the single or the Java bundled version?

Had you got any ChemAxon product on this machine earlier, before you installed 5.2.3.1?

Can you describe your software environment (operating system, java version, ms-office version)?

I haven't had any chemaxon software on that computer before.

Operation system: Windows XP

Microsoft Office: Professional Edition 2003

Java  2 Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_04

could you please send us the log file Marvin OLE produces?

Run/Cmd.exe

please type the the following in your Command prompt

set temp

possible results:

TEMP=C:\Users\h\AppData\Local\Temp

change directory (cd) by this path and

you can find the Marvin OLE log in the following format MarvinOLE_2009_mm_dd.mrvlog.

oh, i didn't realize the attachment didn't work out.

well, i tried again, but somehow the log file doesn't work as an attachment. (i tried with another file - jpeg- which turned out to be attached. so  i dont know whats the problem is with the log file) can i send it via email somewhere?

It seems that the forum is sensitive against the unknown file extensions, if you rename it to txt, it should be working then.

I will notify the forum administrator about attachment problem anyway.

• You need to find the My Computer on the desktop and say right mouse and Properties


• System properties window will pop up


• Go to the Special or Advanced tab


• And click on Environmental variables button


• Envronmental variables dialog pops up


• On the bottom part of the dialog there is the System vriables group box with some buttons and the list of variables themselves


• If JAVA_HOME is not there, you need to add it with Add/New button.


• A new Input dialog will be opened
  Name of the variables:  JAVA_HOME <---------------- this text should be typed in
  Value of the variable: Your java JRE path as you can see in the picture my JRE root highlighted, this path you should browse and copy and paste to here.


• afterwards 3 OK confirming the changes, and maybe reboot to get the new variable applied. Before rebooting please try to register the marvinOLE server again.
