Hi Folks,

I have just moved a web-app containing a embedded marvin applet to a new server. Everything is working fine except that the 'Tools' menu has disappeared !

I have cehck the obvious - all the files under the Marvin directory are present and acessible. There are no errors reported by the java console. All licence information is present and correct.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Peter

PS- Using MarvinSketch 4.1.13

Dear Peter,

basically the Tools menu disappear when the following file is not present or is empty: marvin/xjars/plugins.properties

At this location one xml file per calculator plugin is also needed.

Can you please check if these are also available at the new location?

Kind regards,

Judit

Hi Peter,

Please check this link: http://www.chemaxon.com/marvin-archive/4.1.13/marvin/examples/applets/sketch.html. It will open a MarvinSketch 4.1.13 applet.

Does the "Tools" menu appear correctly on the opened MarvinSketch?

If this works fine, then please check again if the marvin/xjars/plugins.properties file is in the correct folder on your server, and also check your application server configuration.

Clear also the JRE cache on your client computer, for details see this topic.

Hi Folks,

I've managed to solve the problem :-)

When we migrated the system we upgraded our webserver from IIS5 to II6. II6 is configured by default to block unknown file types. Usually this is not a problem, but marvin needs to access the calc.properties / plugins.properties files and since .properties is not a recognized MINE type the marvin applet cannot access. Solution was just to add .properties as a text/plain MIME type to IIS and everything worked fine.

Thanks for your help.
