Charges and radical points are too tiny

Hi,

we want to use MarvinSketch to make structure-formulas for publications.

The structures come from quantum chemical calculations and the xyz-geometry should be seen in the formula. And so we must transfer the formula as image to conserve the projection of the 3D structure.

MarvinSketch is a good tool to do this, but the plus and minus signs and the radical point are far too tiny. It is difficult to see it, look at the screenshot. And we have a lot of ions and radical ions, the papers concerns about colorants.

What to do ? We must put the + and - signs and the . with a pixel program, f.e. GIMP in the picture.

Dear Hans-Ulrich,

Unfortunately, the charge and radical signs are presently not graphical objects, therefore it is not possible to enlarge them (the charge sign can be enlarged together with the atom label size using the Edit > Format menu option, but I suppose it is not a solution for you).

The feature requests to place these signs as graphical objects are on our request list, but are planned to implement only in version 5.3.

Best regards,

Akos

Dear Akos,

thank you for your quick answer.

We had already tried to enlarge the font but as you are mentioning the atom labels get to large then.

So we have to use the pixel program workaround until we will get version 5.3 .
