Marvin.View disruption with large SDF fields

Hi,

using large fields within SDF files, the mview window will be totaly destroyed. Example: the SDF files from the PUBCHEM ftp (1 million compounds)

ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubchem/Substance/SDF/

using 3x3 maximum vizible size (rows x columns) molecules resize in a happy manner, small single molecules are as large as possible, very large molecules are not seen anymore. Sometimes the slider disappears.

A constant size would look much more better, but may be problematic with a large number of fields. Another solution would be to use only 1x1 view. Using fonts sizes larger 10 is also problematic with large fields, because fonts are somehow cutted in mview.

MarvinView/Swing 3.5.3

JVM: Sun Microsystems Inc. Java 1.4.2_06

OS: x86 Windows XP 5.1

Memory: 1016,1M maximum, 64,9M total, 36,2M free

Screen Resolution: 1680x1050

With kind regards

We plan to create a scrollable textarea from the textarea of property fields.

i use marvin view as a 3*9 matrix i mean 3 rows and 9 columns visible at a time. 9 columns is essential for me but the right side of the mview screen(that includes the slider of the mview) can be seen only using the slider of the firefox.

i think that if i can place the slider of mview to the left side of the applet it will be more useful.

It it allowed to replace the slider on mview?

Best regards

gokay.
