Have you tested Marvin 4.1 and 5.0 thoroughly for compatibility with IE7? Your browser page does not say. For that matter, it doesn't say anything about Netscape 7.2 for Mac, either.

A user of ChemIDplus reports that they cannot save a structure from MarvinSketch. It is version 4.1.11. We have confirmed this with IE7 under Vista sp1. It seems to work fine with Firefox and Opera. There is no error message, just no file on the PC. Is there a permission setting that needs to be changed? Will Marvin 5 fix this?

Thanks

Dear George,

We have checked the reported issue on several machines with old and new Marvin versions both in IE and in FireFox.

There is not any problem in Marvin applet.

Probably, you have tried to save molecule in a folder where you have not write privilege (e.g. C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer). Because of security reason, Vista do not let write into the folder of core applications. Of course, with administrator rights, you can do it.

Saving molecule from applet into the home folder or into any other folder where the current user has write privilege works fine.
