One question I have about chemaxon products is what the difference between Marvin and JChem? My understanding is that Marvin is a component of JChem.
That is right. The JChem suite contains the whole Marvin.

Marvin contains the editor (Marvin Sketch), the viewers (Marvin View and Marvin Space) and the calculator plugins (property predictions).

JChem consists of all Marvin stuff above plus JChem Base (database), JChem Cartridge (Oracle-specific integration), Standardizer(structure canonicalization),

Reactor (library enumeration), JKlustor (clustering), Screen (similarity calculations) and Fragmenter.

Furthermore, we have a new out-of-the box database solution called Instant JChem.

The page below contains a diagram of our products, but indeed the packages are not spelled there. (We will fix that.)
