Hi,

An interesting feature of MarvinSketch would be a drawing preference template for generation of structures for publication. For example, the ACS guidelines (for chemdraw) are:

drawing settings

Item - Settings

chain angle 120 degrees

bond spacing 18% of width

fixed length 14.4 pt (0.2 in.)

bold width 2.0 pt (0.0278 in.)

line width 0.6 pt (0.0083 in.)

margin width 1.6 pt (0.0222 in.)

hash spacing 2.5 (0.0345 in.)

text settings

Item - Settings

font Arial (PC)

size 10 pt

Under the preferences choose:

units points

tolerances 3 pixels

Is it possible to implement this either in an applet or in the standalone marvin beans?

Cheers,

Nicolas

Hello, in the new release you will be able to load/save settings (fonts, wire thickness, etc) and apply it for the whole document or only to a selected set set of atoms/bonds. Also document style can be adjusted - you will be able to create multi page documents, change paper size, margins, etc. So one will be able to create a profile for a particular publication, and save and load it. We will provide settings requred by JACS only for the moment but the list can be expanded - thanks for the settings description.

Thank you,
