"+" symbol not drawn when adding 2nd reactant

I just downloaded the latest version of MarvinBeans, 16.7.4. I start msketch, and then I draw in this order:

1) H3C-CH3

2) Reaction arrow

3) H3C-CH3 on the product side

4) another H3C-CH3 on the reactant side (see attached image)

5) change cursor from Single Bond to Selection

6) click anywhere on the scene

7) finally the + logo appears

 

I would have expected the "+" symbol to appear immediately after step 4 above (i.e. to visualize 2 reactants), and the version of MarvinSketch I'm currently using (i.e. 16.4.11) does behave as expected.

 

I have a similar problem with loading data using Marvin Beans API, but I'll hold off on generating a test case for that for now.
