way small characters

The + and - charges and the dot indicating a radical are way too small in the default settings in Marvin 4.0.5. The radical dot is so small that it is only 3x3 pixels, and it looks like a very small plus. The - is just one pixel wide. Please use larger characters for these properties. Not all of us have 20/10 eyesight.

We will check this issue.

Hi,

This problem remains present in Marvin 4.1.0alpha19. Zooming twice increases the size of the unshared electrons and the + and - signs to a reasonable one. But then the alphabet characters are too large.

Increase the Atom label size. You can do it on the Appearance panel of Preferences dialog (Edit/Preferences).

Does this help?

It helps the + and - signs if I increase the font size all the way up to 18. It does not help the electrons (lone pairs or radicals) at all. Besides, I would like the alphabetical characters to remain 12 point. You need to use a bullet character for the unshared electrons and a larger font for the + and - characters than for the alphabetical characters.

We can not use the bullet character for lone-pairs. A couple of Java versions can not draw this character.

Really? How unfortunate. In that case, use a 24-point period, even though it looks like a square rather than a circle -- better a visible square than a microscopic point.

We are still checking how to improve charge and radical drawing.
