Hello ChemAxon,
We have heard that Oracle will stop supporting Java 7 in April 2015. Is Marvin compatible with Java 8? I couldn't find anything about it in the forums.
We are specifically interested in the Marvin applets for web developers, which we install on Windows and Linux platforms, and access from different browsers, mostly Firefox and Safari.

Hi Ron,
As far as we know both the applet and the desktop version is compatible with Java 8. Personally, I'm running every Java application with an 1.8.0_25 JVM, and I've had no troubles yet.
For security and compatibility reasons, it is good to keep your Java installation up-to-date, at least in the case of the applet.

Indeed, I updated my Java to version 8, and Marvin did not have any issue with it. Thanks for reassuring me!

I have tested our product (mainly the Applet) with the new Java version yesterday, and it also worked without any problem.
