deactivated chain button

Below, see a screen shot of Marvin 6.3.1 in a Web page. I see the same behavior in Marvin 6.2.1. The MarvinSketch configuration file is attached. Note that the Insert Chain button is grayed out and deactivated. I don't understand why it is. It's also deactivated in the Insert -> Chain menu. 

I believe this is a fairly recent development since we upgraded to Marvin 6.x. Please advise how we can allow users to use the Insert Chain button.

I tried out your configuration file, there is no problem with that, it does not affect the chain tool.

What parameters did you use while deploying the applet ? 

Is the chain tool grayed out on our applet example page ?

The button is not grayed out on your site, http://www.chemaxon.com/marvin/sketch/index.jsp.

We invoke the code in the attached JS file to launch Marvin. Many of the pages that you can get to from http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/welcome.html (for example, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/mechmarvin.jsp, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/standardize.jsp, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/pKa.jsp, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/flipChair.jsp) show the grayed-out chain button, but not all (for example, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/JChemCompare.jsp, http://epoch.uky.edu/ace/public/compareConformers.jsp).

We had no time to deal with this issue - yet, but it will be fixed soon. 

Until then, if you really wish to get back the chain tool, I've found out the problem is related to the 'extraBonds' param, if you remove the line in your appletStart.js 

msketch_param('extraBonds', 'wedge,either,arom,coordinate');

then the chain tool will be active, among the other bonds, you disabled.

I just upgraded to Marvin 14.8.18.0, and it appears that this problem has not been fixed.

Sorry for the missing fix.

Let me readjust the fix version to 14.8.25, it was missed out somehow from this release.

Marvin 14.8.25.0 has been released, and the fix to the chain button problem is in it, but the Marvin history of changes page says it contains no changes from the previous version.
