Can't use the menu bar

Hi,

I'm trying to use MarvinSketch 6.1 64 bit version. My problem sounds a little bit weird...

If I have a new file I can use the menu bar, but after drawing a molecule and moving this, I can click on File from the menu bar, the File bar is opening but it is closing instantaneously. Thats why I can't save any molecules and so on...

I have tried to fix this problem by using a older version of MarvinSketch, installing the Marvinbeans version with java and updating java, which uses my system.

Does anyone know a solution for this problem?

My system:

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit Gnome 3 environment

Hello,

Have you tried removing every java installed on your system ? There could be more than one java installed, and it could cause problems. Try removing every single one and install MarvinBeans for linux x64 with java included.
