two annoying changes in behavior

Using Marvin 6.0.3 on MacOS 10.7.5 desktop.

  1. When I place an isolated H on the canvas, the positive charge is not added automatically.  This is a change in behavior from previous versions.  99% of the time, if I am placing an H atom on the canvas, I want it to have a charge of +1.  Please restore the previous behavior.  (The subject of the automatic + has appeared in this forum previously.)

  2. The MeO group in the following structure should be leaning to the right, but Marvin has it leaning to the left (as MeO).

Thanks, Efi. What about problem #1?

Hi Bob,

You may define a "H+" template to your template toolbar to solve the 1st issue.

I know it's not the same but it may be handier than setting the charge on each H atom.

I'd really rather you changed it back to the way it was.

Hi, I and my students are still being annoyed by having to do two actions every time we put H+ on the canvas. Given that 99% of the time, a user putting an isolated H atom on the canvas wants it to have a charge of +1, why don't you restore the previous, much smoother behavior of automatically putting the +1 charge on the H?
