Two Bugs in MarvinSketch

Hi,

In the past few days I've encountered the following issues with MarvinSketch. They are:

  1. Dropdown windows look messed up on Firefox on a Mac. Clicking on any of the buttons on the toolbar (i.e. 'Insert', 'Atom', 'Bond', etc.) brings a dropdown, but it comes from the top of my screen. Attached is a screenshot of what I mean. This error is not present on Safari. I can't test it on Chrome due to applet issues. This error is present even on ChemAxon's examples, for instance here: https://www.chemaxon.com/marvin/examples/applets/sketch/templates.html.

  2. Ungrouping a built-in template seems to spontaneously remove atoms. For instance, in the Template Library, when I see the preview of Alanine, I see 6 atoms, including two oxygens. However, when I insert this Alanine into my canvas and I ungroup it, I only have one oxygen left -- only the oxygen double-bonded to the carbon is left.

I imagine others have pointed out these issues, but I'm still posting this just in case.

Dear Ucarion!

The first problem is a known bug, since java 1.6.0_29 and firefox 8/9 the dropdown menus are quite messy, this is a firefox bug, and it is reported already, but there was no fix since then. Here is the link for the bug : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=703007

Your second issue is still under investigation.

Dear wanderinglovey!

Do you have the OSX Firefox or the Alanine bug? What version of Marvin do you use?
