MSpace 6.0.2 problem in transfering 3D molecules

Hi Marvin developer,

testing the new Marvin 6.0.2 versions for our computer pools I found a severe problem in the combination of MSpace and MSketch. As documented in the attached screen shots, the former version MSpace 5.12.3 transfers 3D structures to MSketch and the 3D structure is OK.

But the new version MSpace 6.0.2 kills the 3D structure down to a 2D structure.

We like to use this combination for editing molecules in 3D. So we cannot use the new version.

The 3D structures may come from outside, f.e. Xray structures.

Is there a possiblity to change this transfer mechanism ?

Dear Hans-Ulrich,

Thank you for reporting this problem, we could reproduce it. We will investigate it.
There is a workaround to solve this issue but it does not connect the two applications dynamically:
    -select molecule (in Marvin Space)
-Edit > Paste or Ctrl+V in Sketch

Dear Hans-Ulrich,

we have changed the behaviour of this functionality back to the original. The "Open in MarvinSketch" will open the original 3D structrure. It  will be available  in the next minor release 6.0.4 expected shortly.

Kind regards,

Adrian

Dear Adrian and Laszlo,

good to read this. We will test it immediately.

And we are awaiting the announcement of the next minor release 6.0.4.

Dear Adrian and Laszlo,

now we have release 6.0.4 and thank you for the anouncement.

The functionality MSpace -> Open in MSketch -> MSketch now works once more and shows the molecule in 3D. Editing in MSketch immediately shows the result in MSpace. And there is a new functionality: Activating an atom in MSketch shows this atom in MSpace in pink, see attached screenshot. Good to have this.

But there are still problems in the combination MSpace <-> MSketch. We will show these here after intensive testing.

Best regards, Hans-Ulrich
