I would like the option of changing the appearance of the coordinate bond from an arrow to a dotted bond (like an ANY bond).

If the you want to display coordinate bond between a metal ion (atom) and multicenter, we have a "hashed" line options. Is there any chance that it is enough for your case? Or if it is not may I ask in what cases do you want to use the doted version?

I would like the coordinate bond to also appears as a hashed bond when showing a hydrogen bond, e.g., C=O...H-N.

So basically: you would like to have hydrogen bond?
May I ask why is not enough to use "any bond" in this case?
(I am asking it, because I have to clarify all the aspects before we plan and implement a new bond type.)

Because JChem will not treat an ANY bond like a coordinate bond in searches. You're right that I can draw something already that *looks* like a hydrogen bond, but I need it to behave properly in searches.
I suppose you can make a new hydrogen bond type that is different from a coordinate bond, but that seems overkill. You already have a coordinate bond appear hashed when it connects a multicenter attachment point to a real atom; simply have it appear dotted (large dots) when it connects an H atom to any other atom.

Sorry about the late answer. We are still in the planning phase with this feature. Do I assume correctly that you want it to work only in case of explicit hydrogens?

Yes, you assume correctly.
